First Overall (Bengals) – Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Pick made by Ty Walden – Contributor

As the Cincinnati Bengals sit with the first overall pick, a lot went through my mind. But when it ultimately came down to it, this was the move that will make sense 100 out of 100 times.

Andy Dalton has been with the Bengals for a long time. But he has not played in a postseason game since 2014. The team needs a new signal-caller to provide them with a bit of a spark to get back into the playoffs. Therefore, the team gets that in Joe Burrow.

The LSU star was playing on another level through the entire 2019 season. He was breaking records and making a lot of noise as he completed one of the best seasons by a quarterback in SEC history with a victory in the National Championship Game. And he did it by beating some of the toughest competition that stood on the opposing side.

It appears that Joe Burrow is ready to lead a team that has not been postseason bound since 2015. There is no doubt if they want to get back to the playoff days, it is no secret that a quarterback change will be needed. And there is no doubt that Burrow is the guy to do it.
