13th Overall (49ers) – CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

With Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III off the board and the San Francisco 49ers needing help at the receiver position, they take Oklahoma receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Deebo Samuel is the 49ers’ top receiver, and adding Lamb and his big-play ability would be a great complement to the 49ers offense. In 2019, Lamb averaged 21.4 yards per reception. That sort of production could really help in the team’s

Lamb, while not the fastest receiver, can get downfield with his 4.5 speed and make the most out of any sort of poor throws. If the ball is placed in a non-ideal position for the receiver, Lamb can make it work and adjust his positioning.

In Kyle Shanahan’s offense, Lamb could be a big part in a jet-sweep type of play where the receiver goes in motion and then takes the handoff from the quarterback right as he turns around after the snap.

Another thing that I love about Lamb’s game is his strength. Trying to tackle him by grabbing his arm (it happens!) just will not work.

Javon Kinlaw was another option here, but I felt that the team needed a top receiver to replace Emmanuel Sanders, who signed with the New Orleans Saints.
