Regardless of which of these guys is considered the starter opposite Courtland Sutton, either of them will lose that spot if the Broncos take a wide receiver in the first round as many are expecting they could.

Starting with Tim Patrick, he is a guy the team seems high on, especially after using one of its two spots to bring a player back from injured reserve on him last season. While he shows flashes of being a solid contributor, he is way too inconsistent and is probably nothing more than a No. 4 wide receiver at best.

DaeSean Hamilton still has plenty of room to grow and he has ended each of his first two seasons in the league on a solid note. It’s now time for him to play at that level for a longer stretch and there is hope that the team might have something with him after the way he played when Drew Lock was the starter last season.

Still, he’s probably a No.3 option.

If the Broncos use the No. 15 overall pick on CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs or even a guy like Justin Jefferson, that will be the team’s new starter across from Sutton. There are also several guys with a second-round grade who can start for most of the teams in the league.

The idea of the Broncos getting a new starting wide receiver in this draft is not only possible, it’s likely.
