Lloyd Cushenberry, C, LSU

After losing Connor McGovern to free agency, the Broncos could be looking for a new center and Lloyd Cushenberry is a great option.

The Broncos do have Patrick Morris on the roster, but Cushenberry could be a day one starter as a rookie. He displays impressive strength and great hand usage and has above-average length for a center.

He was also a team captain at LSU, the school that won the national title last season. During that season, Cushenberry was responsible for calling the protections for Joe Burrow, who went on to have one of the best seasons in college football history.

Cushenberry is one of those unsung hero types because he plays center, but having a good, consistent presence at that position is something a good team must have.

The Broncos have had many different players start at center over the last several years, but it’s time to find a guy who can start at that spot for the next decade. Cushenberry fits that bill.

While it certainly isn’t exciting to take a center in the second round, it’s a pick that makes a lot of sense for this team.
