In order to move up from the 15th spot, the Broncos get a little bit creative.

Presumably, they won’t be the only team jockeying for a receiver in this draft class. The Browns’ spot is a solid one because it won’t cost the Broncos an arm and a leg to move up from the 15th pick.

The Broncos could get creative with the Browns and involve some players in a trade on either side of the ball because many of the players the Broncos had on offense were drafted for the type of offense Kevin Stefanski will run (the Browns already acquired Andy Janovich, for example) and Joe Woods is the defensive coordinator of the Browns.

Woods, of course, was once the defensive coordinator in Denver as well.

The Browns cut Christian Kirksey this offseason and lost Joe Schobert at linebacker, and while they have some young players who could step into the starting lineup, it can’t hurt to have a player like Todd Davis who could make all of the calls and give Cleveland an experienced veteran in the middle on that side of the ball.

For the Broncos, this trade makes sense as the team needs to add a playmaker on offense and they could plan on Josey Jewell starting in Davis’ place until they groom another player from this rookie class.

CeeDee Lamb would be an exceptional pick for the Broncos when the dust is settled here.

Lamb has perhaps the best hands of any of the top receivers in this draft class, and he’s undoubtedly the most physical player after the catch. He doesn’t have the elite track speed like Henry Ruggs, but he certainly has enough speed.

His ability to accelerate — especially through contact — is one of the top individual traits of any receiver in this draft class.

Lamb has experience playing inside as a slot and outside, and he’s good at both. He would be a tremendous pickup for Denver, along with any of the top three receivers including Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III.
