The departure of Chris Harris Jr. makes the need of adding cornerbacks to the roster very crucial. Miami’s Trajan Bandy is a late-round possibility.

There are definitely concerns about his height (just 5’9”), but he could potentially fit in on game days in which the Broncos play a team who has a shorter receiver.

Bandy is a defensive back that is solid in zone coverage. He is quite athletic, making zone coverage easier for him.

His 4.5-second speed makes adding him very desirable. Height isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker in the NFL. There have been some solid defensive playmakers that aren’t very tall, but still have made an impact.

It might take Bandy time to adjust, but I feel as if taking a chance on him could be worth it.

At 5’11”, 213 pounds, South Carolina running back Rico Dowdle isn’t the fastest, but also isn’t terribly slow. He ran a 4.54-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

The Broncos will need a big running back to take the load off of Phillip Lindsay, while not overworking Melvin Gordon. Royce Freeman isn’t bad, but I feel as if bringing in another running back, late through the draft, is worth it. There’s not really any risk involved, as it’s not like this is a scenario where the Broncos gave up a lot to move up in the draft.

There could be room on the Broncos’ practice squad for Dowdle’s career early on, if the team so chooses to do that.
