Denver Broncos mock draft: Replacing Free Agents, adding depth
Oftentimes, inside linebackers are tasked with covering the tight end position. Oregon inside linebacker Troy Dye could be a big help to a Denver Broncos defense that has struggled to do so for as long as I can remember.
Another plus of Dye’s game is that he led the Oregon Ducks in tackles the last four seasons. He recorded 391 in his four years at Oregon.
Dye also recorded 13 sacks, five interceptions, and four forced fumbles.
Dye did not participate in the NFL Combine due to an injury, so we don’t exactly know his measurables, but it is clear that he plays fast and can create havoc.
With Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell leading him, I strongly believe that Dye would be a tremendous asset to the Denver Broncos defense.
After the Denver Broncos declined Ronald Leary’s option, guard became an immediate need.
Oregon’s Shane Lemieux could be the answer.
When the Broncos drafted Kansas State right tackle Dalton Risner in 2019, they ended up inserting him as their left guard, which turned out to be a great decision.
If the Broncos go ahead and draft Lemieux, they would be taking a guy who played left guard and inserting him as their starting right guard.
Lemieux has tremendous upper-body strength, which will bode well for him in the NFL when blocking heavier defensive linemen.
