Denver Broncos: Constructing an All-Decade Team from 2010-2019
Cornerbacks: Chris Harris, Aqib Talib
Others considered: Champ Bailey
Champ Bailey, one of the best cornerbacks in NFL history, but he doesn’t make this team.
Bailey’s better days were behind him for much of this decade and if you think back to the Super Bowl against Seattle, his last game in Denver, he was a true liability on the field.
Aqib Talib was much better and was a key piece for a team that did win it all. In four seasons with the Broncos, he went to the Pro Bowl in all four years.
He also had a nose for the end zone. He had 11 interceptions during his time with the Broncos and returned six of those for touchdowns. He was also an instrumental piece on a team that won the Super Bowl and as good as Bailey was in his career, for the time the two spent with the Broncos this decade, Talib is the clear choice.
As for the other spot, Chris Harris is an easy choice. If he is on the NFL All- Decade Team, he’s obviously going to be on this one.
Harris, who went undrafted out of Kansas in 2011, spent nearly the entire decade with the Broncos. He had over 500 tackles and 20 interceptions with the team, putting himself on a list of the best cornerbacks the Broncos have ever had.
