Denver Broncos: Constructing an All-Decade Team from 2010-2019
Linebacker
Outside linebacker, Von Miller: If you were to vote for the best player of the last decade for the Broncos, it would be this man.
Since being drafted with the No. 2 overall pick in 2011, Miller has become one of the league’s top pass rushers and the Broncos’ all-time leader in sacks, a lead he is still adding to. He also won Super Bowl 50 MVP and his inclusion on this list doesn’t need to be defended, it was a given.
Outside linebacker, DeMarcus Ware: When the Dallas Cowboys released Ware after nine great seasons with the team, the Broncos jumped on the chance to sign him and got exactly what they were hoping for.
In three seasons in Denver, Ware had 21.5 sacks and actually made Miller even more dangerous, because opponents had to pick their poison in terms of which guy to give extra attention to. The Broncos have tried to re-create this scenario ever since and it is what they want with Bradley Chubb in the fold.
Inside linebacker, Brandon Marshall: Marshall spent six seasons in Denver and for the most part, was a solid contributor on defense. He was always among the league leaders in tackles and turned in a good career with the team after a slow start to his career in Jacksonville.
Inside linebacker, Danny Trevathan: Trevathan was selected in the sixth round of the 2012 draft and ended up being a huge steal in that spot.
Trevathan had over 100 tackles twice in his four years with the team and he was able to drop back into coverage, something almost all inside linebackers for the team have had trouble with for years. He had five interceptions with the Broncos, returning one for a touchdown.
His loss in free agency following the 2015 Super Bowl season was one the team has struggled to replace since.
