The Denver Broncos need more talent at the wide receiver position and many fans hope that will be addressed early in the 2020 NFL draft.

If the Broncos were to select a wide receiver in the first round it would be just the fifth time in team history that they have used a first-round pick on that position.

It’s hard to argue that the team doesn’t need a top-flight wide receiver. With only Courtland Sutton as a completely trustworthy option on the current roster, it’s risky to trot Drew Lock out every week with only five starts under his belt with DaeSean Hamilton and Tim Patrick as his next-best options to throw to.

That is why names such as Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs are connected to the Broncos in the majority of mock drafts out there. All three of those guys are great players and would be excellent first-round picks.

Looking back on the team’s history, there have only been four wide receivers ever taken in the first round. Those draft selections have produced a mixed bag of results on the field.

That’s what we will discuss here as we look back on a portion of the team’s draft history.

You’ll see some good, some bad and some ugly here as we count them down from the worst pick to the best pick. Can you recall any of the wide receivers the team has taken in the first round? Is there any way that you remember all four of them?

Here they are, ranked from worst to best.
