Option 5: Denzel Mims (Baylor) and Laviska Shenault (Colorado)

Of all of the combinations mentioned in this post, this one might involve the two most physical players the Broncos could target in the top 100 at the receiver position.

At this point, Mims and Shenault are both very difficult players to project where they will land. Mims could go anywhere from the 20s to the 40s. Shenault is likely not going in the first round with his injury history, but will teams keep him out of round two as well?

Just think if the Broncos could get both of these guys after trading down and accumulating additional picks, whether in next year’s draft or to use as ammo to move up for other guys in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Mims is a physical outside receiver with outstanding long speed, though he’s not as sudden as other speedy receivers in this draft class. His catch radius is huge, and Mims is physical in the running game to go along with his pass catching abilities.

Pairing Mims with Laviska Shenault would be interesting because Shenault could play a big slot or Deebo Samuel type of role in Denver.

Although Shenault is not the prototypical route runner or model of health at this point, he’s an explosive playmaker in space and if the Broncos could find ways to get all of these guys on the field at the same time, they would keep defenses off balance and would be able to dominate physically.
