Denver Broncos: Full 7-round mock draft with trades
Damon Arnette’s teammate at Ohio State, Jeff Okudah, draws all the headlines, but Arnette is nothing to sneeze at. A Second-Team All-Conference selection last season, Arnette played in nearly 50 games for one of the top college programs in the country.
He does not come without his weaknesses, but just about every player in the draft has those. He gets beat deep a bit too often, but he is a guy that can play inside or outside in coverage and as such, is a piece that the Broncos could move around and experiment with.
After losing Chris Harris, the Broncos will be forced to count on Bryce Callahan this year. Last season, Callahan wasn’t available for even one play.
A trade for A.J. Bouye will certainly help and the Broncos have some other pieces with potential in the secondary such as DeVante Bausby, but there is no doubt that the team needs more depth at the cornerback position.
There is a chance that the team will look at cornerback even earlier than round three should some of the bigger names still be available when they go on the clock. In this mock exercise, Arnette was still on the board at this spot and he fills a big need.
