Day three picks

4a. Ben Bredeson, OL, Michigan

The Broncos look to the Michigan program for an experienced guard prospect who could potentially shift over to center.

There’s no hard evidence that Bredeson would be able to excel at the center position, other than the fact that he’s just really experienced overall.

A team captain for the Wolverines program, Bredeson would join another former Wolverine in Graham Glasgow, who just signed on with the Broncos to a big free agent contract this offseason.

Although he’s a fourth-rounder here, Bredeson would have a chance to start as a rookie if he can beat out Patrick Morris or Austin Schlottmann.

4b. Devin Duvernay, WR, Texas

The Broncos undoubtedly need to double up on receiver in this draft class.

Devin Duvernay, another team captain at Texas, had a huge senior season for the team and has an intriguing set of skills for the Broncos — or any team — to work with.

Built like a running back, Duvernay has excellent long speed and run-after-the-catch abilities. As a matter of fact, he’s an absolute bowling ball in the open field.

Duvernay plays with a chip on his shoulder and invites contact. He’s certainly not afraid to play over the middle of the field and has strong hands. He would give the Broncos a player to rotate in the slot with DaeSean Hamilton.

5. Bravvion Roy, DL, Baylor

The Broncos look again to the Baylor program with their fifth-round pick and get Bravvion Roy, a fascinating nose tackle type at 6-foot-1, 333 pounds who racked up 61 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks this past season.

He and James Lynch would be outstanding pickups for the Broncos in this draft class.

6. Derrek Tuszka, EDGE, North Dakota State

You can never have too many pass rushers.

The Broncos had a meeting with Tuszka at the Scouting Combine and his production with the NDSU Bison is certainly impressive.

In terms of size and measurables, Tuszka is a projection to the next level as an outside linebacker but his length, effort, quickness, and production are impossible not to like at this juncture of the draft.

7a. Nate Stanley, QB, Iowa

Why not give Stanley a shot here? He’s got plenty of experience running a pro-style offense and his arm talent is worth trying to reign in. His accuracy is a problem but he’d be an intriguing camp arm.

7b. Jonathan Ward, RB, Central Michigan

At this stage of the draft, you either take shots or you find special teams players. Ward is a very intriguing back with speed and pass catching ability who scored 15 touchdowns for Central Michigan this past season.
