The Broncos have to come away from this draft with some developmental starters on the offensive line.

Matt Peart out of UConn has some of the top developmental traits in this draft, but he also has plenty of college experience to build off of.

He’s long, strong, quick, and has very easy movement skills at the tackle position. He also has experience playing both the right and left side, so he could give the Broncos a viable starting option for either if they needed to move on from either Garett Bolles or Ja’Wuan James.

Unfortunately, this seems like a high price to pay for insurance. You’d ideally love to get a starter with this high of a pick, but having a starting-caliber backup offensive tackle is critical for the Broncos.

They have some guys on the roster they might like for that already, but this is a good tackle class and a player like Peart in round three could be a great value for them.

Note: The Broncos currently have three third-round picks, but after all the trades made in this mock scenario, this was the only one left.
