Denver Broncos: What does the team still need?

The Denver Broncos have taken an aggressive approach in free agency, choosing to find key players through trades rather than handing out multiple massive contracts.

The team has traded for A.J. Bouye and Jurrell Casey to shore up spots that were weak on defense while also adding depth through free agency. On Friday, the team agreed to a one-year deal with Shelby Harris to bring him back into the fold.

The team has also aided the offense with the signings of Graham Glasgow and Melvin Gordon. Jeff Driskel and Nick Vannett have been signed as experienced backups and now, the Broncos seem content to focus on the draft.

There are still plenty of free agents out there and the Broncos still have money available under the salary cap (currently $21.1 million according to Over the Cap), though some of that will need to be saved to sign the incoming rookie class.

The Broncos entered the offseason following a rough 7-9 2019 campaign with several pressing needs. All things considered, John Elway has done a good job filling those and preparing the team to be better in 2020. At least on paper, the team is better.

But what does the team still need?

It takes a complete team to win the Super Bowl and tremendous depth is generally a must in navigating a 16-game (soon to be 17-game) NFL season mainly because of injuries.

So whether it be by way of signing an available free agent, making another trade or finding a good option in April’s draft, these are the five positions the Broncos still need to address.
