Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs: September 17, 2015

This game would begin on a positive note, with Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry the last to exit the tunnel and take the field to a standing ovation from both fan bases. The reason? Berry was taking the field just two months after beating his battle with lymphoma.

This Thursday night primetime game would prove to not disappoint. However, once again, this looked to be a game that the Broncos would not come out on top in, as the Chiefs led 24-17 with under a minute left in regulation.

However, Manning would drive into the red zone and find one of his favorite targets in Emmanuel Sanders in the end zone, quickly followed by a successful PAT by Brandon McManus to tie the game up.

With 36 seconds left, Andy Reid and Alex Smith had a decision to make. Would they take a knee and go into overtime, or would they play for the win?

The Chiefs would gamble on Jamaal Charles to pick up some yardage, and on that gamble, they lost all of their money when Charles fumbled the ball only to be scooped up by cornerback Bradley Roby for a defensive touchdown that would send Kansas City home with their first loss of the season.

This was just the beginning of an absolutely thrilling season. Watch the highlights here.

Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers: February 7th, 2016

Super Bowl 50

To piggyback on the beginning of the 2015 season, what better way to follow up than when the  Broncos finished that season on top of the world, and Manning was able to ride off into the sunset as a world champion?

As you likely remember, the storyline of this Super Bowl matchup going into the game was that the best offense in football would be going up against the league’s nastiest defense. However, the talking heads of sports media quickly jumped to the conclusion that the Denver defense would be no match for “Super Cam” and his high powered offense. They said the “No Fly Zone” would be open for travel.

How wrong they would be.

Von Miller and Co. would shake the earth that Newton stood on; Miller would strip-sack Newton just halfway into the first quarter; Malik Jackson would recover it for a defensive touchdown.

It was an uphill battle for the Panthers all game, and Miller would win a well deserved Super Bowl MVP. The Broncos would become world champions after defeating the Panthers 24-10 in a game that truly never felt close.

I could go on for hours about how magical this game was, and as you watch, the nostalgia of the 2015 season may bring you to tears.
