The Denver Broncos made a big deal for offensive lineman Graham Glasgow on day one. What could be on tap for day two of free agency?

The Denver Broncos made their first big splash of the 2020 free agent negotiating period by signing Detroit Lions offensive lineman Graham Glasgsow to a hefty four-year, $44 million contract.

The Broncos just got out of a big contract with former starting guard Ron Leary, who had signed a deal worth over $9 million per season back in 2017. After declining Leary’s option, the Broncos felt it was necessary to make the interior line a high priority on day one of free agency, making Glasgow one of the top 12 highest-paid interior offensive linemen in the NFL.

According to Mike Klis, Glasgow is going to be initially penciled in as the Broncos’ starting right guard, the spot vacated by the aforementioned Leary.

Considering Glasgow has started for the Lions at left guard, center, and right guard, his versatility was undoubtedly a determining factor for the Broncos.

An interesting note on Glasgow signing — the Broncos had an offer on the table for their own guard/center Connor McGovern but pulled it upon negotiations obviously going well with Glasgow.

McGovern will not be returning to the Broncos, but that doesn’t mean the team is done pursuing interior offensive lineman. Free agent BJ Finney, a former backup center with the Pittsburgh Steelers who has done well when given starting opportunities, is a no-brainer fit for this team as a center with Glasgow at the right guard spot.

Signing someone like Finney would allow the Broncos to go into the 2020 NFL Draft with their top six linemen under contract. They will have to dress eight guys this year, so it seems likely they will carry nine or 10 on the roster. You need depth.

So, in addition to the possibility of adding Finney, what else can we expect from the Denver Broncos on day two of the free agent negotiating period?

Let’s dive into some of the possibilities.
