Kenny Robinson, Safety

Kenny Robinson’s path to this point hasn’t quite been conventional. After getting kicked out of West Virginia, the safety prospect initially wanted to transfer before ultimately deciding to join the upstart XFL.

In his short time with the league, Robinson impressed me and should have no problem getting in with an NFL squad. The only catch that is his services won’t exactly be up to the highest bidder. His unique situation requires him to be in this year’s NFL draft.

With a nice stockpile of picks, Elway should look to use a pick on the former Battlehawks safety. Robinson has good size at 6’2” and 198 pounds and has a wealth of experience, starting 20 games at West Virginia before starting every game for the Battlehawks this season.

While at West Virginia, he showed a knack for making plays, totaling seven interceptions and earning All-Big 12 honors as a sophomore. That seemed to translate well to professional football where he added two interceptions in five games.

The Broncos aren’t hurting at the safety position by any means after franchising Justin Simmons, but they should take a look at Robinson, a high-ceiling guy who could become a starter down the road.
