Denver Broncos: Offensive line help is on the way with signing of Graham Glasgow
The Denver Broncos have decided to get in on the action with the free agency frenzy that is underway in the NFL.
Though deals cannot become official until the league year begins on Wednesday, the team has reportedly come to terms on a deal with offensive lineman Graham Glasgow.
Terms of the deal are said to be $44 million over four years with $26 million guaranteed.
That is a hefty deal for a guard, but the Broncos need to address the offensive line, a unit the organization has been looking to fortify for years.
Glasgow is a former third-round pick of the Detroit Lions and has spent his entire four-year career in the Motor City. During that time, he has played in 62 games, making 58 starts.
The versatility of Glasgow is what likely drew the Broncos to him as he can play both center or guard. News of the signing may signal that talks between the team and Connor McGovern have broken down.
The Broncos placed a second-round tender on restricted free agent Elijah Wilkinson on Monday, looking to keep him in the fold. That could leave the Broncos with a potential offensive line of Garett Bolles–Dalton Risner-Glasgow-Wilkinson-Ja’Wuan James.
Of course, the NFL draft could change things drastically if the Broncos decide to select an offensive lineman early.

The Broncos will not be bringing back Ronald Leary for another season, so the team was looking for a younger option and Glasgow, at 27 years old, fits the bill.
In 2019, Glasgow played on 872 offensive snaps for the Lions and was flagged for just three penalties. He did not allow a sack. Pro Football Focus gave him a 74.1 overall grade for the season.
Glasgow is 6-foot-6 and weighs 310 pounds. He is quite tall for the center position but the ability to be a swingman is invaluable to an offensive line such as the one in Denver.
He is very quick out of his stance and a fantastic run blocker. He is probably best suited to play guard.
McGovern was expected by most to be playing somewhere else next year, and Glasgow may offer more flexibility than both he and Leary did.
Glasgow will also bring some zone-blocking techniques to the offensive line and that is something the Broncos could be looking to employ much more of.
