The Denver Broncos are shaping up their roster as the team has picked up the player options of Von Miller, Brandon McManus, and Todd Davis.

Free agency is set to begin next week. Despite all the chaos going on with the pandemic, the NFL is continuing on. The Broncos have begun their moves regarding players on the roster and shaping up their 2020 roster.

After giving Justin Simmons the franchise tag, the Broncos have continued and officially have picked up the player options for Von Miller, Brandon McManus, and Todd Davis. The team made the moves official on Friday.

Picking up Miller’s option was a no-brainer, even though he had a rough go at it for the 2020 season. It marked the first time since his shortened 2013 season that he did not record double-digit sacks. With Bradley Chubb returning in 2020, Miller should continue to produce at a high level.

McManus has been good for the Broncos in the past, but there could be a chance the team finds an option in the draft that could make McManus expendable. But he has been one of the more consistent special teams players in key situations.

As for Davis, the pick up was a bit of a surprise as the team is looking to fix up the inside linebacker position. Also, the contract he has was thought of to be one that the Broncos could save money on. But having a veteran presence, for the time being, was probably the reason for the move.
