Los Angeles Chargers

The thought of losing a player to a divisional opponent is never a pleasant thought, but it does happen, and this move would make sense for Booker.

In fact, it may even be a possible scenario that the Broncos and the Chargers could swap running backs via free agency with the news that Melvin Gordon is unlikely to return, not surprising considering he sat out part of the season amid a contract dispute.

Austin Ekeler proved in 2019 he was more than capable of holding his own in Gordon’s absence, and when Gordon did finally return, he was utilized very infrequently, although he is currently the No. 1 running back on the Chargers’ depth chart.

While Ekeler will likely start in 2020, and Justin Jackson is also a good option, the Chargers could afford to add another back, and Booker would make sense.

He would fit in well into Anthony Lynn’s system and would pair nicely with Ekeler and Jackson, and even if his carries were limited, he could be used as a receiver frequently.
