Arizona Cardinals

After a giant breakdown from Cardinals’ running back David Johnson, we saw very little from him in 2019. Rushing for over 1,200 yards in 2016, we have not seen nearly as much of him since, whether it be injury or a decreased workload.

Johnson missed part of 2019 with an injury that led the Cardinals to trade for Kenyan Drake, the current No. 1 running back on the official Cardinals depth chart. A depth chart with the likes of Johnson and Drake, both very solid backs, is pretty impressive.

However, it is not clear whether both Johnson and Drake will be on the Cardinals’ roster in 2020. Johnson has been involved in trade rumors for a while now, but it seems that he is a part of the Cardinals’ 2020 plans.

Due to the new deal Johnson was given, he is not likely going anywhere, although he has not quite delivered as much as they would probably like him to. On the other hand, Drake’s contract is already up, and he will likely be looking for a lucrative deal, as well.

If they were to choose to let Drake walk, Booker could be a solid No. 2 behind Johnson, who still has plenty of gas left in the tank. Booker would also be a much more affordable option for a solid secondary back.
