Upon being drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2016, there was much optimism that Devontae Booker could be a solid No.1 or No.2 running back for the Broncos.

Going into his fifth NFL season, it now seems unlikely that Booker will have a significant role with the Broncos again, following the addition of Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, and the news that the Broncos will not re-sign Booker or Theo Riddick before free agency.

While this does not necessarily close the door between Booker and the Broncos, it feels pretty unlikely that they would offer him a new contract if he were to not be picked up in free agency.

Although the Broncos will likely go for another running back via the draft or free agency, Booker has just not panned out in Denver the way one would hope and he could use a fresh start. Booker going through free agency untouched seems pretty unlikely, anyway.

Although his workload decreased dramatically in 2019, he is still a good option. In fact, there are many teams he’d have an opportunity to get a lot more touches and a bigger workload with.

There are plenty of teams looking for running backs on the market. Here are three teams that would make sense for

Booker.
