Wild Card

Amari Cooper (Cowboys)

Amari Cooper is not the flashiest wide receiver in the NFL, but he’s one of the best all-around receivers in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys would obviously hate to lose Cooper, but if they can only use one tag and they have to use it on Dak Prescott, Cooper would then test the market where he could explore his options, including with the Denver Broncos.

It seems counter-intuitive to spend money on the wide receiver position in free agency with so many top-notch receivers available coming from the college ranks, but the Broncos could pair a player like Cooper with a 2nd-3rd round pick at receiver and suddenly have a deep crop of skill players.

Marcus Mosher put together this clip reel of Cooper’s best work from 2019.

Adding Cooper could ultimately cost close to $17-18 million per season, but the Broncos aren’t paying a quarterback right now.

Cooper would be an instant upgrade for Denver opposite Courtland Sutton and a tremendous big-ticket free agent pickup, even if he’s unlikely.

Signing Cooper would likely mean sacrificing making a bunch of smaller, effective moves.
