Rest of the offense

Offensive line: Mike Remmers (Giants), BJ Finney (Steelers)

The Broncos could fortify their offensive line depth by signing swing tackle/guard Mike Remmers, who was infamously destroyed by Von Miller in Super Bowl 50, but has since proven a capable player when called upon.

BJ Finney, following Mike Munchak over from the Steelers, would get the opportunity to start for the Broncos at center and I think give the team true flexibility in the 2020 NFL Draft.

I think both of these guys could come in for a low enough price that the Broncos would not have to entrench one in the starting lineup, but Finney could be a multi-year investment as a starting option.

Tight end: Eric Ebron (Colts)

Ebron, entering his seventh year in the NFL, Eric Ebron has proven to be one of the best pass-catching tight ends in football, although ironically he’s not always been known for being sure-handed.

The reality is that Ebron is one of the best red zone weapons in the NFL and another athletic mismatch at the tight end position.

I’m sure there will be competition for his services, but if the Broncos sign a pass catcher in free agency, their money might be better spent on Ebron than on a second-tier or third-tier wide receiver.

Adding Ebron would give the Broncos one of the most athletic pass catching duos at the tight end position in the NFL and both players are capable of being a ‘big slot’ type of receiver with Fant also capable of playing in-line on a more full-time basis.

Quarterback: Marcus Mariota (Titans)

If the Broncos go the free agent route for a backup quarterback, the only player that excites me that could realistically take a backup role is Marcus Mariota.

Although Mariota has had a tough go in recent years, he has the upside and athleticism to actually put some faith in as a backup quarterback. Players like Chase Daniel and others like him are more like coaches taking up active roster spots.

The Broncos have a QB coach and an offensive coordinator known for developing quarterbacks. Instead of bringing in a player/coach, why not bring in a guy who might actually be able to play if called upon?
