Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets

There is no doubt that Robby Anderson is a talented young wide receiver, but he will be one of the most sought after wide receivers in this year’s market behind Amari Cooper and he is going to get a big deal from some team.

But the money he signs for is going to outweigh the production he has posted in his first four years in the league, so teams are going to be paying for a player that they feel has been hindered by playing for the Jets.

His best season came in 2017 when he caught 63 passes for 941 yards and seven touchdowns.

Sure, we can blame that on being on a poor team, but he hasn’t exactly had a squeaky clean image while in the league either. Just two years ago, he was arrested on nine separate charges in Florida.

The Broncos are in the market for another wide receiver, that is no secret. But with a talented draft pool where the team could find two solid contributors at wide receiver with the five picks they have in the first three rounds, it doesn’t make sense to splurge on this guy.

Anderson has plenty of talent and a team is going to pay big for him, but the Broncos don’t need to be that team as there are plenty of great options in the draft and those free-agent dollars can be allocated elsewhere.

Spotrac shows that Anderson has a projected market value to earn a contract at four years and $48.1 million, or $12 million annually.

Pass.
