Pick Analysis. CB. Virginia. 77. player. Scouting Report. BryceHall. 888

The Broncos are expected to lose their top cornerback, Chris Harris Jr., in free agency and they will need to add some players at the position to fill the void.

They recently agreed to acquire A.J. Bouye from the Jacksonville Jaguars, while effectively giving up a fourth-round pick. That pick was the pick received in the Emmanuel Sanders trade, No.127 overall.

So, with the 108th pick in the 2020 NFL raft, I have the Broncos selecting Virginia cornerback Bryce Hall.

Hall, in my estimation, would definitely be drafted higher than the third round if it weren’t for an injury to his left ankle during the 2019 season that required surgery, knocking him out for the rest of the season.

One of Hall’s biggest strengths is playing against the run. He recorded 98 tackles in 42 career games during his collegiate career. This is a big reason why he would be a great fit in Denver. Vic Fangio has said that tackling is non-negotiable in his defense. Everybody needs to know how to tackle.

Regardless of whether or not Harris Jr. returns to the Broncos in 2020 (I don’t believe he will), adding a cornerback like Hall could be a fantastic move for the Broncos. They could be getting a second-round talent in the third—or maybe fourth—round.

Pick Analysis. 83. 817. Scouting Report. RB. LSU. ClydeEdwards-Helaire. player

The Broncos are going to need to add a running back to the roster with Devontae Booker and Theo Riddick about to hit free agency. They currently have undrafted star Phillip Lindsay and 2018 pick Royce Freeman as the 1-2 punch.

LSU’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire unfortunately has dropped in rankings due to his 4.60-second 40-yard dash during the NFL combine, as well as putting up just 15 reps on the bench press. The fact that he stands at 5’7” and 206 pounds is also not ideal.

However, the name of the game of football is to score points. In 2019, he either ran for a first down OR a touchdown on 36 percent of his rushing attempts.

Going back to the topic of his height, that doesn’t necessarily matter. We have seen players that were deemed “too small” to play the game of football and turn out to be superstars.

In my opinion, adding another running back is very important. Lindsay is a smaller back, and who knows how many hits he can take? It is better to have this position taken care of. They need to make sure they do not overwork Lindsay.

Something that the Broncos could use is Edwards-Helaire’s pass-catching abilities. He really stepped up in catching the football in the 2019 season, recording 55 receptions for 453 yards. This is something that could be very useful for the Broncos. It’s something they were unable to see from Riddick last year due to his injury.

Maybe adding Edwards-Helaire would make Riddick expendable.
