Broncos could still have room in Salary Cap

Even with the Denver Broncos taking in the remaining two years of A.J. Bouye’s contract, it can still be possible for John Elway and Chris Harris Jr. to come up with some kind of deal. As it stands, Bouye’s contract is at $27 million over the final two years, according to Mike Klis.

With an average of $13.5 million a year, that is not entirely too bad. Especially with the cap space the Broncos will have with the team declining Ron Leary’s option and the potential of Joe Flacco’s release.

Yes, the team still needs to be sure they can pay Justin Simmons in the offseason. I am certain that Elway and the Broncos brass figured that out. But if the Broncos brought back Chris Harris around the amount of Bouye, it would make perfect sense.

It will all depend on how Harris Jr.’s market is in free agency. But if Rich Hurtado can make those numbers work, it is possible.
