Bucky Brooks has Broncos going different route in round one
By Tylor Walden
Most NFL Mocks that I have seen for the Broncos is either a wide out or a offensive lineman. Bucky Brooks goes a different route for Denver.
There are plenty of wide receivers that the Denver Broncos could look at in this upcoming draft. And there is no doubt that it is one of the needs for the Broncos for this upcoming season. There are some fans and analysis that could see the Broncos go the route of an offensive tackle.
However, here comes Bucky Brooks to throw that all into the wind and perhaps even look into the future. The Broncos are likely to lose Chris Harris Jr. in free agency, which to me would be a tough pill to swallow as a fan.
So, if that were to be the case, the Broncos would be in need of a cornerback. The position itself is not entirely strong. Therefore, Denver needs to find someone that can make an impact right away. Brooks has one corner in mind. C.J. Henderson.
The Florida Gator cornerback was mocked to Denver in Bucky Brooks latest mock draft. As I mentioned earlier, the Broncos could look at offensive lineman. However, in the mock, the three big offensive linemen were taken.
I was a bit shocked that Brooks went cornerback for Denver when CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs III were available and are a bigger need for Denver. But this is what the NFL Network analysis had to say for his reasoning for the pick.
His thoughts do make sense, especially since the Broncos could lose Harris Jr. and the team decided earlier in the week that they would not tender De’Vante Bausby. Perhaps that news is the reason why. Isaac Yiadom is the only cornerback that started a game that will return.
Perhaps having another corner will help. But as far as if I am a fan of the move, I would say no. If there are no other options, yes. But with the need on offense, Henderson would just be a move that would mean Denver did not get a cornerback in free agency.
We shall see what the Broncos do. It is definitely is a good best player available selection. But it might not be a top need in the first round.
