Colby Wadman, punter

Unlike the previous player, Colby Wadman has had no consistency as a player in his time with the Broncos.

Since coming to the team in the middle of the 2018 season, the former UC Davis has averaged 44.5 yards per punt. While that doesn’t look like an awful number, his inconsistent play was evident.

It seemed like there were a few punts every game that were off the mark and far short of where they needed to be. A lot of the blame could be traced back to special teams coordinator Tom McMahon.

McMahon was supposedly high on Wadman’s abilities and was his biggest advocate for signing in the middle of the 2018 season. For whatever reason, the two aren’t clicking and getting the most out of Wadman.

While it would appear that McMahon will return for a 3rd year as the Broncos special teams coordinator, I think it’s a reach to assume that Wadman will be in a similar boat.

With his inconsistent play, it’s hard to place him as the surefire favorite to be the Broncos punter in 2020.
