Denver Broncos pre-combine mock draft: Perfect pairings
Jordan Elliott has been a favored son of analytics people but has curiously been quite low on The Draft Network’s predictive board pretty much all offseason.
The former Texas transfer is 6-foot-4, 315 pounds, and had the highest pass rush productivity rate of any interior defensive lineman in this draft class.
While TDN has him going in the middle of the fourth round and others have him in the first-round mix, it’s reasonable to assume he could land somewhere in between.
While the Broncos could be going heavy after defensive line in the 2020 free agent signing period (and they should), drafting front seven players who can rush the passer is never a bad idea.
Elliott is a big, strong, athletic playmaker on the defensive front who is extremely strong and quick off the ball.
As a first-team All-SEC selection, Elliott is part of a very deep interior defensive line class that may lack star power at the top, but could provide a team like the Broncos with a day one starting caliber player in round three.
