The Broncos have Noah Fant ready for a second year. But another tight end wouldn’t hurt. Perhaps the team looks into a trade with Cleveland for David Njoku.

The tight end position for the Denver Broncos has been one that has not really worked out well ever since Julius Thomas left in free agency. While Owen Daniels was a solid veteran option, he was only around for one year and did not factor much into the offense. Meanwhile, in Cleveland, David Njoku spent most of the season not playing due to injury.

It could have been for a variety of reasons. Injuries, coaching staff issues, not many opportunities. Whatever the case, it seems as if he has been unable to do a whole lot during his time with the Cleveland Browns. In three seasons with the team, he has recorded 1,066 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

Under a new head coach, David Njoku could find success, but what if he does not come back to Cleveland? There could be a chance as Jake Trotter over at ESPN says he could be the Cleveland Browns representative that could use a fresh start. Would Denver take a chance?

Because there is still at least one year left on his rookie contract, a trade would need to happen for Njoku to play in Denver. Therefore, I believe this could be a solid trade between the Broncos and Browns.

With the Cleveland Browns looking for some draft capital, this trade could help out both parties involved. But how does David Njoku fit in the Denver Broncos offense?

Like I mentioned before, the Broncos have struggled at finding a solid tight end. And having Njoku along with Noah Fant could make them a dangerous duo in Denver. Both have recorded receptions that have gone 60 yards or more.

Having another weapon out there for Drew Lock can make it go even smoother for the offense in 2020. With Pat Shurmur running the show on offense, this could be a fun team with two pass catching tight ends.
