The Denver Broncos under performed in 2019, but NFL Network’s Adam Rank thinks the team could pull off a tremendous season in 2020.

There is so much that goes into a season in the National Football League. Teams have to figure out how their roster and coaching staff will be formed. Free Agency and the NFL Draft are huge factors in a team’s success. This goes the same way with the Denver Broncos.

Their 7-9 season a year ago was very disappointing but they had a rookie head coach in Vic Fangio and shuffled through three different quarterbacks. It’s a good thing they found their guy in Drew Lock.

So, what kind of season will the Denver Broncos have in 2020? NFL Network’s Adam Rank predicts something spectacular. He included the Denver Broncos in a list of teams that had a 2019 season similar to the 49ers’ 2018 season.

The 49ers went 4-12 during the 2018 season. The 49ers ended up 13-3 in 2019 and made it to the Super Bowl.

Denver has some holes to fill this offseason but are set at quarterback with Drew Lock, who enters his first full year as the starter. He gets a new offensive coordinator in Pat Shurmur and quarterback coach in Mike Shula (both of these coaches were with Daniel Jones in New York with the Giants).

Some questions absolutely need to be answered before getting into record predictions.

What is going to happen with some of the team’s pending free agents? On the defensive line, Shelby Harris, Adam Gotsis and Derek Wolfe are unrestricted free agents (free to sign with any team). Mike Purcell is a restricted free agent, which bodes well for the Denver Broncos.

Chris Harris Jr. seems to already have moved on and will hit free agency so the Broncos will have to figure out a way to replace him. Maybe the team will be able to sign a guy like Byron Jones, or maybe they will go in a different direction.

Rank’s prediction for the Broncos in 2020 is a fun thing to see, especially after his 2019 prediction where he predicted the team would win two games and secure the top pick in the 2020 Draft.
