I was surprised to see Jaylon Johnson available in the third round of this simulation, but I wasn’t mad about the idea either.

Johnson is a lengthy cornerback who is better known for his man coverage skills, but I think he has the length and instincts playing the football to be really effective in Vic Fangio’s defense.

The Broncos should be seeking solutions at cornerback in free agency, but what if their solution at cornerback is not someone like Byron Jones but someone like Prince Amukamara, if released as expected by the Bears?

If the Broncos go the short-term route in free agency, I think cornerback gets bumped up the draft to-do list.

Jaylon Johnson is a player who could come in and contribute right away and he presents a great value in this particular position of the draft. He had seven interceptions in his college career along with 21 pass breakups.

Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell have done a tremendous job through the years of developing defensive backs, so a player like Johnson here would be awesome.
