Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans

Marcus Mariota, to me, is the coup of the 2020 free agent quarterback class in the Broncos’ context.

Yes, he stunk this past season. But that doesn’t mean there’s not upside left there and this was once a player many thought to be part of the future wave of NFL stars.

Mariota needs a change of scenery, and the Broncos can provide it. He needs correction on whatever has happened to him as a passer mechanically, and the Broncos have the coaches to get the best out of him.

We’ve also seen in recent years a willingness from NFL teams to pay up in trades for guys who show well in preseason play, so what if Mariota signs with Denver to rehab his image for the offseason, camp, and preseason, then gets a shot with another team while Denver reaps the benefits in a trade?

At the very least, he could take the year to be a backup in Denver, rehab his image around the league, and create demand just by being a talented young player whose distance from Tennessee will create a value for him in that, it was just the circumstances there.

I feel like I could be his agent…

Mariota has upside athletically, he’s a good dude, and if he’s willing to accept a backup role, I would love to see him come to the Broncos for a year.
