Day Three Picks

5th round: Lamical Perine, RB, Florida (projected comp pick)

Perine is a tough, physical runner with some juice who could give the Broncos a third-down option as well as a possible featured back to compete with Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay.

6th round: Geno Stone, S, Iowa

The Broncos may need some safety depth in case Will Parks isn’t retained in free agency, but they may need some depth on the back end anyway.

Stone showed some NFL-starter caliber skills while at Iowa, albeit inconsistently. He has upside and would be a nice flier this late in the draft.

7th round: Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming

Wilson is a big-time Broncos fan and having played a very productive career at Wyoming, he could be the ideal late-round player for a team always needing help/depth on special teams. He’s also a converted defensive back who could be a weapon in coverage.

7th round: Rodrigo Blankenship, K, Georgia (projected comp pick)

Why not? The Broncos could save $3 million by letting go of Brandon McManus, who has struggled in recent years from beyond 50 yards.

Blankenship has been mostly money the past four years for Georgia.

7th round: Braden Mann, P, Texas A&M (projected comp pick)

Braden Mann won the Ray Guy award in 2018 as the nation’s best punter and was a unanimous All-American as well.

The Broncos have to upgrade from Colby Wadman this offseason and Mann could be one of the best punters in this draft class.
