Devontae Booker

Speaking of frustration with a player, nobody in this group has underachieved more than Devontae Booker.  A once highly touted RB prospect, Booker has done little to cement that reputation since coming to Denver in 2016.

In his four years with the Broncos, Booker has averaged 494 yards from scrimmage and just under 2 TDs per season.  To add insult to injury, nearly half of that yardage total all came in his rookie year (his only year to start games).

In stark contrast to Lindsay, The worst stat for Booker may be his inability to protect the ball. In his tenure as a Bronco, he’s fumbled the ball seven times with five of them resulting in a turnover. The most notable was the one against the Panthers in the 2016 season opener.

Overall, Booker was just an ‘ok’ player. Was he a bust as a pick? No. Did we expect a lot more from him? Definitely.

Considering he was drafted late in the 4th round, he wasn’t a player that the Broncos were heavily invested in.

He was a guy that was highly rated and fell to day three of the Draft. At the time, he was considered a good value pick for the Broncos.

While we all wanted more out of Booker, he contributed to the team for the length of his rookie contract and will probably get a chance to be on somebody else’s roster next year. For the Broncos, though, it appears as if they’ve moved on from Booker.
