Need #4: Wide receiver

The Denver Broncos have a need for speed at the wide receiver position.

Phillip Lindsay is the fastest player the Broncos have on offense, and he’s not utilized as a burner in the passing game.

The Broncos have one of the best young receivers in the game in Courtland Sutton. After a dismal start to the 2019 season, DaeSean Hamilton also appears to be coming on as a slot receiver as well.

With that said, the Broncos desperately need weapons on offense, specifically in the passing game. They need a player (or two) who can stretch the field, make plays after the catch, and open things up for everyone else in the offense.

Is that really too much to ask?

I think the answer to this need is the simplest of them all: Use the 2020 NFL Draft.

This is the deepest class of receivers we’ve seen coming from college to the NFL in quite some time, and the depth of the class is going to cause the Broncos — and other teams — to get guys a round or two later than they would otherwise be able to in a ‘normal’ draft class.

There are so many guys in the 2020 NFL Draft who fit what the Broncos need at receiver. It seems obvious to me what they need to do here. This is not a great free agent class at the position, though you never know with players who could be cut.

How to fix the WR need: Take two in the 2020 NFL Draft.
