Age and Father Time

We all saw it with Peyton Manning. There is no doubt about it. Age does catch up with an athlete and I have a feeling Father Time will be knocking on the door of the Tom Brady residence real soon, if it has not already.

By the time Tom Brady takes the field again, if he does not retire, he will be 43 years old. Even before he turned 40, Peyton Manning knew it was time to hang them up. There have been plenty of athletes I have seen all across the sports world who just do not have the drive once they reach that age.

Brady has been a special athlete to last in the NFL for as long as he has. But all it can take is one moment on that field where Father Time decides it is time. If he has the drive, good for him. But if I am the Denver Broncos, I am not taking that chance.
