Derek Wolfe, Defensive End (2020 age: 30)

Derek Wolfe has been exactly as advertised his entire career for the Denver Broncos.

When he came out of Cincinnati in 2012, everyone said this was one of the toughest, meanest dudes in the NFL Draft, and he’s proven to be exactly that.

Although Wolfe has struggled with some bad injuries, he’s also played through a lot and has been productive as a pass rusher and run defender. As a matter of fact, he set a career-high with seven sacks in his first year under head coach Vic Fangio, and he did that in just seven games.

Wolfe is only 30 years old this February. It feels like he’s been in the NFL for 15 years but he’s still got time left in his tank.

He has stated he wants to retire a Bronco, and while Wolfe wants to be paid what is fair, I think he will be willing to take a deal that is favorable to the Broncos and they’ll get a deal done to keep a key piece of the defensive line in place.

Verdict: Stay
