The Denver Broncos had a big year in 2019 hiring a new coach, spending big in free agency, and making waves in the NFL Draft. We grade all of their moves.

The Denver Broncos had a fascinating year in 2019.

Vance Joseph was relieved of his head coaching duties and replaced by Vic Fangio and almost an entirely new coaching staff on both sides of the ball.

After Fangio’s staff was assembled, the Broncos made a trade for Joe Flacco, spent a bunch of money in free agency, made waves in the 2019 NFL Draft, and made plenty of moves otherwise.

How do those moves look in hindsight? Did the Broncos make the right calls? How do those moves affect the team going forward?

There is plenty to evaluate from this past year. John Elway and Vic Fangio said they won’t evaluate their own roster for a month, so we’re going to get a head start on it.

I want to look through every major move the Broncos made this past year, why they made it, and talk about how those moves are going to shape this roster going forward.

The Broncos now appear to be on the right track as a franchise, but they paid a hefty price along the way to get the arrow pointing up again. Let’s look back at the team’s biggest moves and grade each one.
