When will Elway, Fangio and the staff evaluate the roster?

I found Elway and Fangio’s answer to this question fascinating. Typically, the staff gets to work evaluating their own free agents and their own roster immediately after the regular season.

Fangio offered an idea to Elway about waiting a month, and they are going for it.

This method makes a lot of sense and it’s great that Fangio got Elway to agree to implement it.

I will be interested to see how this affects the team’s decisions of whether or not to keep a lot of in-house guys or look to the outside and a pretty strong free agent class for help.

One of the great benefits of this is from the coaches perspective to be able to get away from what just happened and evaluate the players in-house just like you would evaluate guys who would be coming over from other teams.
