Is Drew Lock the QB going forward?

"“(We) don’t like to show our hand, but I think it’s unrealistic to say we’re going in a different direction.” John Elway (via Broncos PR)"

Amidst some of the other fluff Elway offered about Lock and the fact that he played well, has things to improve, and those types of things, it really comes down to the team not wanting to outright say out loud that Lock is their guy moving forward, to play whatever sort of mind games they want to play with other teams around the league.

The answer to this question is plain to see. Lock has rallied the Broncos and all you need to do is look at the comments of prospective free agents in the building who have been through this team’s best and worst times over the last few years.

Harris and Wolfe are two of the most brutally honest guys on the team. Harris, you’ll recall, was asked about his thoughts on Brandon Allen and he said he wasn’t going to judge the guy off scout team.

These guys were probably a lot less likely to return to the Broncos before we all saw what Drew Lock brings to the table.

Lock has swagger even veteran players are rallying around. His presence in Denver can’t be overstated as players obviously want to get paid but they also want to be able to win games. Denver now has a quarterback to help lure better free agents.

If you add up everything Elway has said about Lock, it’s clear the team is excited about his future and they’ll build around him going forward.
