Lump of coal: P Colby Wadman, coverage units

One of the biggest lumps of coal for the Broncos this year has been punter Colby Wadman, a young player trying to find his way in the league, and their kickoff and punt coverage units.

The Broncos have allowed two punt return touchdowns this season and Wadman has been inconsistent for the better part of two seasons with the team.

I couldn’t put all of the special teams units on here, but the Broncos have had a number of major issues on special teams this year with penalties, poor punting, and poor coverage.

As a matter of fact, one of the great gifts of the 2019 season has been kick and punt returner Diontae Spencer, who came to the NFL from the CFL where he was a star returner for a number of years.

Spencer has been tremendous this year for the Broncos as a return specialist, providing the team with big plays in both the kick return and punt return department. As a matter of fact, he was named a third Pro Bowl alternate.

Spencer has filled a hole the Broncos have had for a really long time.
