Justin Simmons

By: Shelby Manning

Justin Simmons has had quite the season, and has proven that he could (and should) be a member of the Denver Broncos for years to come. With 63 tackles, four interceptions, and a PFF ranking of 90.7, he was the highest ranked safety as of Dec 18th.

However, this was still somehow not good enough to get Simmons voted into his first Pro Bowl appearance. Despite this, Broncos Country knows what a beast the Broncos have in Simmons. He has quickly become a fan favorite, and there are not many who do not wish to see Simmons kept in Denver long term. He is at the end of his contract, so here’s to hoping he gets his money from the Broncos in the offseason.

Another reason Simmons belongs on the Nice List is that he has been selected as the Broncos’ nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, in which each team has a player nominated for outstanding community service.

Simmons contributes much of his time to the Denver Boys and Girls Club, and has worked with over 20 different local organizations in 2019 alone. Simmons is a champion in the Denver community and surrounding areas, and many look up to him, and not just because of his play on the field.
