The Broncos don’t need to look for a running back this high, but they have so many other assets they may be able to afford this luxury.

With another pick probably 15 spots away, the Broncos won’t have to wait long to get back on the clock and could use this pick on another weapon for the offense.

Anthony McFarland, like Phillip Lindsay, is a bit smaller of a running back who wins with speed and toughness, but McFarland would be the Broncos’ answer to not having Theo Riddick on the roster, if they choose not to bring Riddick back.

All McFarland does is break tackles, and the Broncos could get him a number of snaps every week just to fabricate some touches for him in space. At the very least, he is the type of playmaker who makes your offense very hard to defend.

Imagine having to go up against a team with Courtland Sutton, Henry Ruggs, Noah Fant, Phillip Lindsay, and Anthony McFarland on the field all at the same time.

I’m all for the Broncos adding a bunch of playmakers, and McFarland can do just that. He had 13 touchdowns in two seasons for the Terps. Perhaps the Broncos would look to a player with a similar skillset but a little more experience.
