This is a great draft class to need a wide receiver. It’s almost like the Broncos planned it that way.

Alabama has three players — Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith, and Henry Ruggs — that I would be all about the Broncos taking in the first round. Jeudy and Ruggs are probably the two better talents of the three, and all of these guys are different types of players.

All have exceptional speed, but Ruggs is other-worldly in this particular category.

It’s one thing to be fast, it’s an entirely different thing to be able to play fast and to have control over your elite speed, and Ruggs has that.

Taking wide receivers in the first round is often frowned upon, but that isn’t the case in this class. As a matter of fact, it would be disappointing if the Broncos didn’t double up on receivers in this insanely deep class. More on that later.

Ruggs would add an element of speed to the Broncos’ offense but this guy is also strong and competitive at the catch point, excellent after the catch, and great at tracking the ball downfield.

He’s a complete receiver and would pair perfectly with Courtland Sutton.
