The Denver Broncos are calling Drew Lock’s number. Why should Broncos Country be excited about this guy after so many failed attempts at QB?

Almost one year ago to the date, we were dreaming about the Denver Broncos and Drew Lock as a potential NFL Draft marriage.

John Elway and Gary Kubiak had recently gone to Missouri to watch Lock play in person in a rainy game against the Arkansas Razorbacks, a game that ended up being one of the best all-around performances of Lock’s senior season.

Back in the present time, Drew Lock is now likely going to be making his first career start for the Denver Broncos on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.

It’s an exciting time to be a Denver Broncos fan, despite the team being 3-8.

After four years of some of the worst quarterback play and offensive play, in general, we’ve seen, at least in my lifetime as a Denver Broncos fan, the team now has a player in place at the most important position in sports providing the team with a glimmer of hope for the future.

Lock’s insertion into the lineup is probably overdue but if the saying ‘good things come to those who wait’ is accurate, the Broncos should be expecting good things from the former Missouri star on Sunday afternoon against a division rival.

There’s certainly no need to expect Lock to be MVP-caliber in his first NFL game, and at the time of this article being written, the Broncos haven’t officially named him the starter even. With that said, the excitement surrounding Lock’s 2019 debut are justified without seeing him take a single regular-season snap.

Here are three reasons to be pumped about the Drew Lock era beginning in Denver.
