What Graham Tiedtke is thankful for
1. Mike Shanahan
Mike Shanahan was the Denver Broncos’ head coach from 1995-2008. During the early stages of his time in Denver as head coach, he won two Super Bowl titles.
I was four and five years old during those back-to-back titles and was not introduced to football that early in my life.
However, I had the privilege of meeting coach Shanahan in the early 2000s. He was such a generous and kind person who took time to talk with my family and I over at the handicap area they used to have at the facility. He even called over some players to say hi to my family and I.
During one of the training camp practices, the practice was called off due to a rainstorm that was about to happen. Shanahan came to talk to my family and I and told us to follow behind him as he drove to the practice bubble.
Yes, he actually invited us to the bubble. We were the only ones!
I am thankful for the opportunity to meet coach Shanahan and now that I’m older, I realize how much of a figure he is to the Denver Broncos and the team’s fans.
