2020 NFL Draft: Denver Broncos mock draft with a playmaker on top
Assuming the Broncos can keep only one of Derek Wolfe or Shelby Harris, the defensive line should be a priority in the top 100 picks of the NFL Draft for the Broncos, especially if they keep all five of their picks.
I’m not so sure they’re going to do that, but if they do, I think we’ll undoubtedly see them go with a defensive lineman with one of those picks. As a matter of fact, in all but two of John Elway’s drafts with the Broncos, he’s used one of his top two picks on a defensive front seven player.
In this scenario, Elway waits until the third round to get a defensive lineman, and a pretty good one at that.
Marlon Davidson is overshadowed by Derrick Brown at Auburn, but he is a versatile and productive player for the Tigers up front and could be a nice weakside defensive end in Vic Fangio’s defense despite being under 290 pounds.
He’s got a career-high nine tackle for loss and 5.5 sacks so far this season and for a big guy, he’s got some nice burst off the edge. He could be the ideal Shelby Harris replacement.
